If you need to see your GP, you can book an appointment either by calling the surgery or by contacting us online. 

Routine Appointments

We aim to book with your usual doctor for continuity.

Urgent same day appointments

If your appointment is urgent, we will arrange for a Duty Doctor to speak to you on the same day. Call the surgery on 01805 623222.

Our trained Patient Service advisors taking your call will ascertain if you need to be seen on that day, if you are they will book you in with the Duty team.

If they agree with you that you do not need to be seen on the same day of your request, they will arrange the next available appointment with your GP.

If you cannot agree a course of action with the Patient Service Advisor, they will liaise with the duty team for that day and they will ascertain whether your need requires attention on the same day.

You can also call NHS 111 for general medical advice.

Improved Access Appointments

We are offering appointments to patients on Thursday mornings from 8.00am to 8.30am and on Monday evenings from 6pm to 8pm. Also, on the first Saturday of every calendar month.

These appointments are offered by GP practices on a shared rota, and enable patients to book a routine morning, evening and weekend appointments with a Doctor, Nurse, Health Care Assistant.

Booking your appointment on the telephone

If you need to see your GP, then you can book an appointment by calling the surgery on 01805 623222.  

When booking an appointment over the telephone the Patient Services Advisor will ask you for a brief description of the reason for your call. This is to help us prioritise telephone calls, appointments and home visits, ensuring that you are passed to the appropriate member of healthcare team.

Please discuss one problem per appointment. If you have more than one issue, book an additional or double appointment.

Appointments are 10 minutes long, so focusing on one concern helps ensure safe and effective care. If more time is needed, the doctor may ask you to arrange a follow-up appointment.

If more than one family member needs to be seen, please let us know so we can book a longer appointment if required.

Late Arrival for Appointment

If you are more than 5 minutes late for your appointment you may NOT be seen by the GP, nurse or HCA and you may be asked to re-book your appointment. Late arrivals for appointments over the day can result in surgeries running late and cause inconvenience to others.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
